Jordan If you're buying the dumbbells, the stand is a must. It's very sturdy, attractive and makes picking the dumbbells up much nicer than having to pick them up off of the floor. It's pretty easy to put together too.

TomC. The Bowflex Dumbell Stand was not easy to assemble, since the directions called out the wrong size bolts for the center piece. But once I figured that out; the rest of the Stand Assembly was easy, but it requires special tools that are not included with the stand.

But being able to move the Dumbells with the Bowflex Stand is very helpful.

Mossyoakusmc In my honest opinion the stand is a must! I got this for free when the ran a special with the SelectTech 552. I went a week without the stand and was constantly going up and down changing out the weights. Try and wait if you can to see if they run another special to get the stand for free like I did and buy online to save the tax!

Yarsix Assembly was a nightmare. One of the hex screws didn't even have an opening on its head to insert a hex wrench. The lock nuts uses a nonstandard size. I also had to use my dewalt drill to finish installing the top plates. Directions showed hex screws but was obviously incorrect since they were phillip head screws WITH lock nuts. One wheel broke immediately upon screwing it on. The levers to lock them are very fragile and snap in a second. Overall, happy it holds the weights but is a very sloppy product. Unfortunately we don't have any other choices.

Odium Well worth getting. I lucked out, and got this stand free when I purchased the "Select-Tech" Dumbbells 3.5 years ago. Lifting the Select-Tech weights from hip level compared to foot level saves stress on your back. Especially during longer workout sessions.

Mr. Blau If you want to add some serious inches to your muscles, this will help you get there. Set at the waist, you don't get into awkward positions trying to get the heavier weights up. This is particularly good for bench pressing, shrugs, and tricep work.

Bob the Builder While this stand does gets the weights off of the floor (thus making it easier to re-rack), the assembly directions, materials and quality control were a bit lacking. The directions had pictures that were superimposed. The bolts are a soft alloy that is prone to stripping, and the parts do not always line up correctly. Overall, it does its job, but with just a bit more tweaking, Bowflex could have made it so much better.

Paul With the stand I don't have to bend down to pick up the dumbbells. It is very sturdy. Although it took me about an hour to install. The instructions were easy to follow even though there was one typo.

david_57 The select Tech dumbbell stand is highly recommended when using the 1090 dumbbells. The dumbbell stand keeps the dumbbells in a convenient position for use and for changing the amount of the weight.
